The Center for Nursing Excellence is proud to announce the 2024 Evidence Based Practice Symposium featuring UVA Health's Nurse Scientist, Pam DeGuzman.

The symposium will identify the importance of a systematic approach to evidence-based practice, and help you take the next steps in elevating the care you deliver. Join for a day of evidence-based practice, along with nurses from across the Medical Center conducting evidence-based practice projects that are leading to critical practice changes and better patient outcomes!

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to write a clinical question using the PICO format.
  • Participants will be able to apply inclusion criteria to literature to determine the applicability of a study for an evidence-based practice project. 
  • Participants will be able to use the Johns Hopkins Appendix E to appraise a research article. 
  • Participants will understand the importance of literature synthesis in the EBP project.
